Joe needs to utilize his romance with Juliana in order to gather more information on the films from the resistance. Smith reminds Joe that Juliana is an enemy of the state, so John offers Joe an opportunity to redeem himself. ![]() The show then cuts to Joe in Smith’s office. Childen exemplifies the American who has simply accepted his or her role as a subordinate in this Japanese society. He shows an annoying amount of respect on the phone to where he kisses up to his hostess for dinner. This scene really shows how some Americans such as Childen embrace their roles as inferiors to the Japanese citizens of the Pacific States. Shocked at this invitation, Childen gladly accepts. She invites Childen over for dinner for a friendly affair, not business. The show then revisits Childen (Brennan Brown) talking on the phone with Mrs. Frank cautions Juliana to be very careful at work. Juliana reveals to Frank that Arnold is working with the Japanese. The next morning Juliana wakes up to a phone call from Arnold (Daniel Roebuck) who asks her to care for her mother.
